What Is Rescue Training
Whether you work at a mine, nuclear power plant, refinery, or even a park or beach, there are countless hazards that could befall you, your co-workers, your employees, or even your clients at any time. What happens if there is a disaster, though? Is your place of work prepared?
What Type Do You Need?
Wouldn’t you rather spend time preparing your staff for a disaster so that if one does strike you can quickly have a game plan instead of being at a loss? There are so many different types of potential calamities out there, but never fear; there are also tons of rescue training options available! Among the many options, you can learn about CPR/First Aid, confined space rescue training, fall protection rescues, tower rescues, and even dam rescues. Think about the dangers of your workplace to determine what types of training make sense to pursue.
Who Should Be Trained?
Now, while it would be amazing if every single person had every type of rescue training available, that isn’t always feasible and also isn’t quite necessary. The administrative assistant in the office of your mine doesn’t really need to know how to resuscitate a worker who has passed out in the mine. Look at your staff, their job duties, and locations to determine who needs specific training. It’s a great idea for all employees to have good basic safety training, but make sure those who are on the front lines are especially well-equipped.
Will Training Be Done On-Site?
The location of the training often depends upon the nature of the training itself. CPR/First Aid training can be done off-site, while confined space or dam rescue training is typically done on-site, so you can be better prepared. It’s one thing to know how to rescue someone, but another to have experience doing it in a familiar location.
It’s a great idea to look into rescue training, dependent upon your company’s needs.
