Can you tell our readers about your background?
I’ve always had a strong desire to serve others, which has guided my career path. With a background in healthcare administration and a deep commitment to my faith, I wanted to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. My journey to creating Galilee Life Christian Marketplace reflects this commitment, as I now work to support Christian small businesses and individuals who aim to glorify God through their unique products.
What inspired you to start your business?
The idea for Galilee Life came to me after realizing how few platforms were dedicated to supporting Christian entrepreneurs and faith-based products. I saw a need for a marketplace that doesn’t just focus on the transaction but also builds a community rooted in faith and encouragement. I felt God calling me to create a space where faith and business could thrive together.
Where is your business based?
We’re based in New Jersey, but Galilee Life is a digital platform accessible to vendors and customers from all over the world. This setup allows us to support Christian small businesses globally while fostering a tightly knit community online.
How did you start your business? What were the first steps you took?
Starting Galilee Life involved prayer, extensive planning, and researching the needs of Christian small business owners. The first steps included defining our mission, setting up a website, and reaching out to potential vendors. Establishing a foundation of trust and community was crucial, as we wanted our vendors to feel that they were part of something larger.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness for your business?
One of the most effective ways has been through personal connections and word-of-mouth referrals within Christian communities. Additionally, social media has been a powerful tool, allowing us to share our story, showcase our vendors, and build an online following that resonates with our values.
What have been your biggest challenges, and how did you overcome them?
Balancing a clear Christian identity with the business side of things has been challenging, especially in such a competitive marketplace. We’ve overcome these challenges by staying true to our mission, praying for guidance, and building a supportive community of vendors and customers who share our values.
How do you stay focused?
I find that staying connected to my faith helps me stay focused. Prayer, journaling, and reflection are daily practices that keep me centered. By reminding myself of the bigger purpose behind Galilee Life, I can prioritize my time and energy more effectively.
How do you differentiate your business from the competition?
Our commitment to faith and community sets us apart. Galilee Life isn’t just a marketplace; it’s a space for spiritual growth, connection, and encouragement. We foster a supportive community through vendor spotlights, Bible verses, and shared experiences, which help us maintain a unique position in the market.
What has been your most effective marketing strategy to grow your business?
Building relationships with our vendors and customers has been incredibly effective. We focus on creating content that reflects our values, such as Bible verses, Christian advice, and vendor stories. By aligning our marketing with our mission, we attract a like-minded audience who become loyal supporters.
What's your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?
Stay true to your purpose and trust in God’s timing. Entrepreneurship can be unpredictable, but if your business aligns with your faith and values, you’ll have a solid foundation to face any challenges. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and build a community around you.
What's your favorite app, blog, and book? Why?
One of my favorite apps is YouVersion for Bible study, as it helps me stay connected to Scripture daily. I enjoy reading the Proverbs 31 Ministries blog for encouragement and spiritual growth. A favorite book of mine is The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, as it constantly reminds me to seek purpose in everything I do.
What's your favorite business tool or resource? Why?
Calendly is invaluable for scheduling calls and staying organized with vendors and partners. It streamlines communication and helps me manage my time effectively, especially with back-to-back meetings and multiple responsibilities.
Who is your business role model? Why?
My first and foremost role model is God, who is my ultimate business partner, counselor, and refuge. He is my guiding light, and I trust Him with every aspect of my journey. I also deeply admire my husband, Waikiki Paulino, whom God has placed in my life as an accessible example of faith and integrity in business. As he follows God’s lead, Waikiki serves as a beacon of faith, reminding me that working for the Kingdom of God always matters most and that there’s always room to share the message of Jesus.
How do you balance work and life?
Balancing work and life is challenging, but I’m focused on setting clear boundaries and prioritizing family time. I am learning to schedule personal time just as I would a business meeting, ensuring I stay present and grounded.
What’s your favorite way to decompress?
I love spending quiet time in prayer and reflection, which allows me to recharge and refocus. I have created a prayer closet and that is my favorite go to spot now. Additionally, going for walks in nature helps me connect with God and gain a fresh perspective on any challenges I’m facing.
What do you have planned for the next six months?
In the next six months, I’m focusing on expanding our reach through social media and connecting with more Christian vendors. We’re also preparing for seasonal events like our Christmas Online Market and planning an in-person and online Spring market to help vendors showcase their new collections.
How can our readers connect with you?
