Elaine Rau has been featured in 500+ magazines, books, and publications and has spoken on stages all over the world on how to become a successful blogger and influencer.  Within three years, LadyBossBlogger.com has amassed an audience of 250,000+ followers across all social media platforms.

After just one year of blogging, Elaine was interviewed by the Huffington Poston her success and people started emailing her their questions which she answered in her signature courses: LadyBossBloggerCourses.com.

Can you tell our readers about your background?

I am a full-time blogger and influencer which is so crazy to say because I would never in a million years have thought that 1) I would be a business owner and 2) I would be a blogger considering how I don't really like to write! But, how it all happened, in a nutshell, was this: my boss refused to let me visit my boyfriend in Honduras after his brother was murdered because he said it would "affect sales" if I were to leave for a week, so I quit, moved to Honduras, and started my blog.

What inspired you to start your business?

I wanted to become a "lady boss blogger" and that is exactly who I became and have now helped thousands of other aspiring ladybossblogger's reach their dreams by teaching them how to do what I do through my online courses (LadyBossBloggerCourses.com)!

Where is your business based?

Chicago, but everything is online!

How did you start your business? What were the first steps you took?

I purchased my domain name, LadyBossBlogger.com, and started publishing daily blog posts.

What has been the most effective way of raising awareness for your business?

Influencer marketing has been major for me.

What have been your biggest challenges and how did you overcome them?

I definitely hit burnout a few months after the pandemic hit. Because everything went online, that meant my business and traffic to my website skyrocketed and monetarily everything was better than ever, but mentally I was worse than ever because I didn't have any time to breathe and relax so I just crashed. However, that helped me take the much-needed break I should have taken before, which gave me the time to refocus and regroup.

How do you stay focused?

I got several mentors to help me stay balanced. I would recommend getting a mentor for all the sections of your life that you deem important. For example, I have a career, spiritual, and life mentor. To stay balanced mentally, you need input from other people who you trust and admire in your life.

What's your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?

No one has it all figured out. The people who build businesses are the ones who simply start and figure it out as they go along. You don't need to know your next 5 steps, you just need to know and the first step. What's your favorite app, blog, and book? Why?

5 Day Weekend – this book transformed my way of thinking. My favorite quote from the book is, “If you don’t find a way to make money in your sleep, you will work until you die.”

What's your favorite business tool or resource? Why?

I love anything that will automate redundant tasks and have been using SmarterQueue since the start of my business. It's a social media scheduler that posts everything on a 90-day recycle which has saved me loads of time!

Who is your business role model? Why?

Michelle, the founder of Making Sense of Cents, is very inspirational and would be a great person to interview! She taught me how to master affiliate marketing and helped me take my blog and business to the next level.

What’s your favorite way to decompress?

I like to get an hour-long massage to relax, decompress, and re-energize myself. Self-care and health are my TOP priorities. Without health, you can't enjoy your wealth.

What do you have planned for the next six months?

My first priority is to ENJOY LIFE and take as many weekend trips as possible to relax and enjoy the friendships I have built along the way.
